The name of Sylvain Vigny remains attached to that of Jean Moulin in that, when the latter opened the Romanin Art Gallery in Nice, the artist was, along with the brothers Pierre and Jacques Prévert, Nikos Papatakis, Django Reinhardt and the Nice painter Jean Cassarini, among those who regularly met there. It is from 1955 that he becomes a really recognized figure of the art of Nice, as his friends Ben (Benjamin Vautier), Claude Morini and Bernard Damiano.
