Austrian painter, draughtsman and photographer of Czech origin born in Vienna, Haier studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Clemens von Zimmerman. After working in Olomouc, he settled in Brno in 1850 and devoted himself for a time to the beginnings of photography in the 1960s. He is known for his numerous Biedermeier portraits and romantic genre scenes.
