Italian painter and sculptor born in Milan, admirer of the works of Delacroix and Renoir, Sassu is essentially self-taught. At a very young age, he briefly joined the Futurist movement and exhibited at the Venice Biennale at the age of 16. Later, he was influenced by the idealist aesthetic of Edoardo Persico.
