Jugendstil table lamp. Austria, ca. 1900. Enamelled porcelain. Table lamp in Austrian porcelain, signed Doebrich, depicting two very naturalistic children, in round figures, playing in a snowy setting, in front of a huge snowball. The stage and figures are covered with a colourless glaze and decorated with coloured glazes in soft blue tones in a wintry atmosphere. The ball, on the other hand, remains in biscuit porcelain, seeking both contrast and a naturalistic reflection of the real appearance of snow. On the other hand, this ball acts as a light diffuser, so its matt texture diffuses a soft light, without excessive brightness. Electrified. Marks and numbering on the reverse. Sculptor's signature on the base. Provenance: Private Spanish collection, formed between 1970 and 2010. Some old restoration. Normal wear and tear due to use and the passage of time.
