SUGAR POT in silver. BORDEAUX, Jean-Baptiste SERMENSAN (received master in 1765), 1787 (punch of Bernier). Model of oval section posing on four feet with attachments with volutes. The swollen body is flanked by two handles with leafy attachments and a shell clasp. A frieze of flutes decorates the upper edge. The edge of the domed lid is chiseled with channels. It is surmounted by a strawberry-shaped grip. The lid and the body are chiseled with garlands of laurel to which are suspended -on the body and on both sides- two circular medallions with laurel falls with the monogram JPB. Crack inside at the level of a foot recess and in the lid, accident at the edge of the lid, slight recess of the feet in the body. Height 16 cm; length 17.5 cm. Weight 598 g.
