The Bible of Federico da Montefeltro. Mss. Urb. Lat. 1 and Urb. Lat. 2. Modena: Panini, 2003. A reproduction of the sumptuous codex created between 1476 and 1478 for Federico da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino and now preserved in the Vatican Apostolic Library. The work was made in the scriptorium of Ugo Comminelli da Mézières and illuminated by Francesco di Antonio de Chierico in Florence, painter of the Medici family. Alongside Francesco, illustrious names in the history of miniature such as Attavante degli Attavanti, Francesco Rosselli, and probably also Davide Ghirlandaio collaborated; there are 35 large-format miniatures among the most valuable of the Renaissance. 2 volumes, (600 x 450mm). Copy no. 73 of 500. Detailed color reproduction of the original codex. Binding in embroidered burgundy velvet, metal clasps, protected by decorated cloths inside editorial boxes.
