Louis XV style bureau. France, 19th century.
Marquetry.
Presents an interior tear.
Measurements: 89 x 70 x 45 cm.
French bureau of stylized and sinuous design, as it is characteristic of the Louis XV style, forming a continuous line from the slender cabriole legs to the upper body of curved profile, which hides three drawers and compartments behind the folding lid. The three small drawers also have a curved front. The open top of the desk shows a finely marked interior in three sliding panels (its interior also functions as a drawer). With the top closed, the front also displays beautiful floral compositions in a combination of high-quality fruit woods. The wood grain enhances the natural beauty of the wood. Gilt metal shims decorate the feet, matching the bronze applications on the knees of the legs and the gilt metal gallery that finishes the structure of the furniture.
