French school, second half of the 19th century.
Biscuit porcelain.
Size: 35 x 30 x 30 cm.
Biscuit centre with sculptural group in neoclassical style. On a cylindrical base adorned with festoons and crowns, a pedestal decorated with masks rises, and on it stands a female figure, evoking Aphrodite, accompanied by Eros. Four lions surround the couple. The biscuit technique used in this piece, which gives a matt, very white finish to the pieces, began to be used in the mid-18th century, particularly in France at the Sèvres factory and in Italy at the Royal Factory of Capodimonte.
