Spanish school, 19th century. "Saint Catherine". Carving in alabaster. Measurements: 40 cm. high. Sculpture in alabaster, worked in round bulk. As the legend carved on the pedestal, also in alabaster, says, the saint represented is Catherine of Alexandria. She probably held the wheel or sword of her martyrdom in her right hand. She is crowned and wearing a long tunic. Stylistically, she is inspired by medieval models.
