Spanish Bargueño following XVIIth century models. Casa Herraiz, mid 20th century. Wood, marquetry, bronze and mirror. Interior with bar cabinet. Measurements: 146,5 x 96 x 41 cm. Bargueño based on Spanish 17th century baroque models. Raised on a table with an openwork structure and turned legs. Profusely decorated with vegetal marquetry of stylised design, it composes classicist motifs in the form of interlaced scrolls and rosettes, combining light marquetry and dark filleting. The structure follows the tradition of this piece of furniture in Spain from the 15th to the 18th centuries: prismatic, in the shape of a drawer, with arched iron side handles and a hinged front lid. The exterior is also notable for its iron fittings, which have a dual ornamental and structural function.
