Salvilla; Follower of F. de BARBEDIENNE; France, second half of the 19th century.
Enamelled bronze cloisone type.
Measurements: 12 x 25 x 20 cm.
Centrepiece in the shape of a salva with a high foot, made in bronze with embossed spikes on the shaft (which take the form of synthesised dolphins), cut-out handles and a rich enamelled decoration using the cloisonné technique. Cloisonné enamelling is a technique that consists of depositing the vitreous enamel paste in compartments made up of metal sheets which, in relief, form the silhouette of the design. The ornamental richness is based both on the intricacy of the baroque-inspired designs and on the wide colour palette, which includes red, white, black, pink, yellow and various shades of blue, mauve and green.dimensions; 12 x 25 x 20 cm.
