VIC (F. C.) & VAISSETTE (J.). General history of Languedoc. Paris, Vincent, 1730-1743.
5 vol. in-folio, granite calf, spines decorated with gilt arms in each of the 5 lower boxes, gilt roulette on the edges. The illustration is composed of 57 vignettes on the headers, 4 maps enhanced in color, 3 of them on double page, 35 plates out of the text, 17 of them double or folding, as well as numerous figures, bands or initials in the text.
First edition of this famous and justly esteemed work; one of the best particular histories of our provinces according to Brunet V, 1029.
A precious copy with the arms of Rethondes (Oise). It probably comes from the Saint-Pierre priory, which is now in a state of ruin and whose goods were sold during the revolution.
