BUISSON (Mathieu-François-Régis). On the most natural division of physiological phenomena considered in man, with a historical account of Mr. F.-X. Bichat. Paris, Brosson [Imprimerie de Feugueray], year X (1802).
In-8, (3) ff. 344 pp. half marbled tan basane with corners, smooth spine decorated, orange title page, yellow edges speckled with red (contemporary binding). Two corners damaged, otherwise a good copy.
First edition, uncommon.
Cousin and pupil of Xavier Bichat, Mathieu-François-Régis Buisson (1776-1806) had collaborated in all the works of his relative, notably the great Traité d'anatomie descriptive, which he published following Bichat's premature death in 1802 (Monglond V, 1463. Absent from Garrison-Morton, Osler and Sallander.)
