Two salvillas. Teruel, ca.1800.
Glazed ceramic.
Lack of polychromy, chips and chips on the sides.
Measurements: 6.5 cm. and 5 cm. high; 25 cm. and 21 cm. diameter.
Two Aragonese ceramic salvillas, both polychromed in cobalt blue on white with landscape representations and, one of them, with a small animal with a synthetic line trotting in a forest clearing. The Teruel charter, as early as 1176, refers to the potters known as "maestros de ollas", although the historian Llubiá indicates that the establishment of the potters' workshops began with the founding of the city five years before they were mentioned in the charter.
