AURELI TOLOSA Y ALSINA (Barcelona, 1861 - 1938). "Lake landscape with classical fountain". Oil on cardboard. Signed in the lower right corner. It presents some faults in the polychromy of the frame. Measurements: 29 x 37 cm; 41 x 49 cm (frame). A disciple of Modest Urgell, Aurelio Tolosa devoted himself mainly to flower and landscape painting, as well as producing various designs for stained glass windows. He took part in several exhibitions held in Barcelona, competitions and group exhibitions such as those organised by the Layetanas Galleries in 1922 and 1927, and was a member of the Artistic and Literary Society of Catalonia. In addition, Antoni Clavé was initiated in his decorative and advertising painting workshop. Aurelio Tolosa is currently represented in the Parliament of the Balearic Islands, as well as in various private collections.
