The painter offers us a wide panoramic view of a quiet rural landscape. An architectural structure, nowadays in ruins, rises imposingly next to a stream. On the right, the leaves of tall trees are blown by the wind. This work combines genre themes and a sense of landscape of great beauty and atmospheric sensitivity, worked with short, rapid brushstrokes that reflect the light and create dense shadows, shaded in a wide range of earthy and reddish tones.
