Old flange, original equipped with two different enamel signs of the Ed. Laurens cigarette factory, lithoed, Geneva/CH late 20ies, the signs measure each 80 x 60 cmBoth of them are absolute rarities. One, "Cigarettes Laurens", shows the magical backdrop of Giza at night, with the Sphinx in the foreground and the pyramids behind it in the desert sand. The other sign, "Cigarettes Xanthia," is equally breathtaking - in the moonlight, a temple is reflected in the water in the middle of an oasis. Palm trees create a harmonic idyll. The design is by Géo Dorival, a French poster artist. It's hard to believe - the boom was so recently "discovered" in the Swiss Ticino - not in the basement, as you might think, but still mounted on the house wall, visible to everyone. So it is not surprising that the surface is almost perfectly preserved, up there a sign finally does not scratch. Only slight superficial traces of rust stand out vertically from the old screws towards the ground.
