This early work, probably created around 1920 (cf. the work dated 1920: "Urwald mit Vogel", auction Kastern, No. 155, 19.9.2015, lot 102), is compositionally and thematically close to the then contemporary works of Franz Marc and Heinrich Campendonk, with whom the artist may have dealt here. Student of F. Burger-Mühlfeld and main representative of the New Objectivity Hanover. 1928 exhibition at the Neumann-Nierendorf Gallery. Participation in the German Art Exhibitions in Amsterdam and Stockholm.
