"Playboy. Entertainment for Men. Chicago, 1959-1980, 30 vols. 4°, stapled (some covers damaged). Playboy was created in 1953 by Hugh Hefner in Chicago. The first issue comes out on December 1st 1953, with Marilyn Monroe on the cover. It is an immediate success. In a few weeks, the title sells more than 50.000 copies. Some great contemporary authors have published their short stories in Playboy: Arthur C. Clarke, Ian Fleming, Jean-Paul Sartre, Vladimir Nabokov or Margaret Atwood.
