Statistical atlas of horse production in France. Documents to serve as a natural-agricultural history of the country's horse breeds. Paris, Dupont, [1850]. In-folio, red morocco, spine decorated, gilt title on the first cover.
First edition, published by the director general of stud farms. 26 (out of 27) colored maps and 31 (out of 32) lithographed plates drawn by Lalaisse, 24 of which have 2 subjects. The maps are those of the stallion depots districts spread all over France, accompanied by a descriptive leaflet, and the plates represent scenes with horses.
Rubbed and spotted on the binding. Some foxing.
