Very beautiful carpet TÉKKÉ BOUKHARA (Central Asia), end of the 19th century
Dimensions : 325 x 210cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation.
A ruby red field hosts five columns of fifteen "Gühls" "Tékké" (elephant paws), interspersed with secondary "Gühls" "Gourbaka". Six geometric borders, with "Kotchaks" and starry flowers frame the main one with a series of octagonal medallions radiating with crosses pattées. Beautiful polychromy. Stylized plant reserves at each end.
