I (1824): 1 h. + 60 p. + 41 plates, including 2 maps and an architectural title page. II (1824): 2 h. + 104 p. + 1 h. + 58 plates. III (1829): X + 11-89 p. + 52 plates (9 and 14 bis), some of them polychrome, the last plate detached. IV (1838): 2 h. + VI + 91 p. + 1 h. + 50 plates, some of them polychrome. Beautifully illustrated with intaglio headpieces and culs-de-lampe in the text and a total of 202 meticulous intaglio plates, some of them folded, double or polychrome of building plans, elevations, sections, maps, planimetries, general views, architectural details such as mosaics, polychrome frescos, etc. Intermittent rust spots. The third and fourth volumes were continued by M. Gau, after the death of their author. Four vol. enc. in cardboard, somewhat open and rubbed, double tissue. Early, though methodical work on the archaeological remains documented in Pompeii until 1838, an emblematic site that began to be systematically recorded since 1748.
