LYDIS (Mariette). Le Coran. Paris : Société du livre d'art ancien et moderne, [1927]. - In-12 square, green basane with flap, decorated with oriental gilt irons, gilt head (publisher's binding). Nice edition printed at 100 numbered copies, gathering 40 miniatures in colors by Mariette LYDIS, reproduced in colors and pasted on full page under matting. They illustrate each one a verse of the Koran printed opposite. Contrary to what is indicated in the justification, no copy seems to have been signed by the artist. Some rubbing from use. Without the slipcase.

Work translated from English by M***. Preceded by an introduction, and enriched with supporting documents and notes: by Sir John Byerley. Paris : Alexis-Eymery, 1824. - 2 volumes in-8, light tan half-basin, smooth spine decorated, speckled edges (period binding). First edition of the French translation, published the same year as the English original. Copy comprising the text only, without the atlas of 21 plates. Two headpieces are missing, the spines are rubbed and soiled. Numerous foxing and some light spotting.
