Walther Gasch (1886-1962), a German painter, graphic artist and Nazi Party member from Leipzig, studied at the Dresden Academy under Hegenbarth and Richard Müller, whose master student he was. From 1934 deputy director of the academy of arts Leipzig. Impressionistic portrait of an elderly lady in front of flowered wallpaper, oil on canvas, monogrammed and dated 1913 on top right, inscribed on verso, 62 x 50 cm, framed 76 x 63 cm.
