Marguerite Caminat - Benhoura is one of the influential figures of the art world in Algeria, French then, in the second half of the 20th century. Friend of the Maeght gallery owners and the adoptive mother of Mahieddine Baya, she met and frequented the greatest artists: Giacometti, Kelly, Palazuelo and Calder among others. These artists regularly offered her works, autographed or not, in memory of the moments they shared.
