Atypical work never presented on the market, this ink concentrates many important elements. Its title is taken from a pun by Bernard Buffet on a detective novel by the writer Georges Simenon published in 1948 and entitled La Neige était sale. The theme of the village view, much used by Bernard Buffet, lends itself particularly to the atmosphere that Simenon gives to his works. Very rarely, Buffet includes a character in this view, who contemplates the scene from afar. Finally, this face with its piercing gaze in the foreground makes this work on paper a unique and particularly rare piece.
