CAMBODIA, Khmer Art, 13th century. Statuette of Vishnu in patinated gray sandstone represented standing in Samabhanga. He is dressed in a pleated sampot held at the waist by a belt, his torso bare and navel incised, his face serene, his almond-shaped eyes surmounted by straight eyebrows. His fleshy mouth is enhanced by a fine mustache and a beard. His hair is styled in a bun and decorated with a conical tiara. H: 65 cm (without the base) (accidents and missing parts).
