Skillfully placed contrasts between the dark, fluffy fur around the neck and shoulders and the smooth, white skin of the young lady particularly emphasize her feminine charms. - Max Brüning (1887-1968) had moved to Berlin in 1923, where his studio quickly became a widely known meeting place for illustrious figures from film, art, sports and politics. Brüning worked for magazines, designed posters, and became best known for his erotically enigmatic portraits of women and girls. - Faintly creased and wavy, upper and right edges of the sheet somewhat irregularly trimmed.
