On his personal printed stationery, bearing to the upper left heading his black embossed initials, and his printed address `10, Rue de Montchanin´, Maupassant states `Je pars à l´instant pour Antibes et je ne puis faire aucune démarche auprès de Bélot que je ne connais pas, mais voici pour Daudet une lettre qui pourra vous servir…´ (`I am leaving right now for Antibes and I cannot take any steps further regarding Bélot, whom I do not know, but here is a letter for Daudet which may be of use to you…´) Age tone due to a former framing.
