(Ayat-sur-Sioule 1768-1800) general. 6 L.A.S., [1797-1798], to the citizen widow GŒURY, in Poussay near Mirecourt (Vosges); 7 pages in-4, addresses (some wetness). Curious set concerning a natural child of Desaix, born in Poussay (Vosges) to a Mme. La Porderie (or La Porterie or La Borderie) and who was left there as a nurse. Passeriano near Udine 5th complementary day V (September 21, 1797). He hastened to send his letter to Mme Montfort, who has returned from Italy. Paris 9 frimaire. He asks her to send him to Strasbourg "the effects and especially the coat that you have from a lady of my acquaintance who was at your house"... Paris, 5 November. Mrs. La Borderie is no longer in Strasbourg: "the owner of the house warned me that she had received several packages at her address coming from Mirecourt [...] she lives now in Normandy where I am going to go"... This lady does not see Mme Montfort anymore... Paris 4 pluviose. He is sensitive to her good wishes for Mrs. La Borderie and asks for "details on what she has left and what expenses this may cause so that I can also commit her to provide for it in a fixed and invariable way"... Paris 28 ventose VI (18 March 1798). He sent him the sum of twenty louis by the care of the citizens Férino, bankers in Paris: "all the expenses which you made and those to make at first will be covered"... Attached is a long and interesting letter (minute) from the clerk of the criminal court of the department of Vosges, Épinal 10 germinal VIII (March 31, 1800) to the mother of Desaix, on the circumstances of the birth, giving details on the mother, on the little girl and on her nurse; 7 L.A. or L.A.S. from Mme LA BORDERIE, to Mme Gœury (6) or to the clerk of the criminal court of Vosges; 5 other letters to the said clerk, from the widow Ferery (mother of Mme La Borderie), from the administration of Strasbourg, etc., concerning the child and giving details on the mother...; 4 documents concerning the Desaix family and the abbey of Sainte-Claire, 1765-1785.
