Pair of magnificent Empire vases with hunting scenes - France, 1st half of the 19th century, Porcelain, mat and bright gilded, polychrome painted, oval body on indented circular foot with palmette and foliate decor, mounted on square stone base, wall richly detailed painted with scenes of hunting parties, above deepened decorative border with gold etched foliate ornamentation and medallions with swan in pond landscape, shoulder and lower part with classicistic decoration on mat navy blue background, on the shoulders two raised handles with relief decoration and bisque porcelain finials in the form of herms with bird hoods, on indented neck rectangular reserves with classicistic decoration, flared lip rim, h. each ca. 57 cm, both vases restored (glued) at rim, neck and lower part of the vessel
