[Fine Arts: 20th & 21st century part II] [Dada] Th. van Doesburg (1883-1931)/ K. Schwitters (1887-1948). Program Kleine Dada Soirée Lithograph printed in black and red, 30 x 30 cm, (The Hague, 1922). Folded and sl. creased; a few minor tears/ tiny holes on folds. Remnants of former mounting on lower corners verso. A good copy. Hoek, 682b, the first version, with the date 1923 in upper right corner. Adorned with citations like "Tous les matins j'enfile met bottines (Francis Picabia)" and "Dada est contre le futur, Dada est mort, Dada est idiot, vive Dada! Dada n'est pas une école littéraire hurle". Mounted at upper right hand margin in: Theo van Doesburg. Klassiek-barok-modern. Lezing door Theo van Doesburg. Printed by Drukkerij Sinte Katharina in Bruges for "De Sikkel" in Antwerp, 1920, 31, (1) p., 17 ills. on plates, orig. wr. designed by Van Doesburg. Waterst. in upper outer corners at the beginning and end (not affecting the Dada-poster); occas. minor foxing. Wrappers browned, a bit creased and splitting on spine. With owner's entry in pen: "Friedel Cabos de Fries" (Martha Frieda de Fries, 1893-1988). In 1924, Piet Mondriaan painted a portrait of her (both her husband Ernst Cabos and she collected works by Mondriaan). She also played a role in the film "Die blonde Geisha" in 1923 (as geisha Osukisan).
