The Sacrifice of Polyxena. 18th c Drawing, brown ink, brown wash, 37 x 24,3 cm, laid paper (fleur-de-lys, Van der Ley), unsigned (all corners repaired, top right corner underlaid, pinholes, light foxing). Violent scene in front of an antique temple (Bucrania) with several men attacking a woman, one holding a dagger. Bystanders are shocked by the scene. Prov. Albert Van Loock (1917-2011), Belgian art dealer (stamp, L. 3751).
