MIDDLE TABLE in carved and gilded wood, it rests on four amounts in sheath with lion's paws, flowers and acanthus leaves and acanthus leaves, two additional amounts in its center are in console with scroll from which escapes a pair of wings forming heraldic flight deployed. The six uprights are joined by a brace with contours, decorated in the center with a covered urn. Louis XIV period. Sarrancolin marble top. Height : 78 cm - Width : 154 cm Depth : 88 cm (cracks, reinforcements) We find on several engravings or ornamental drawings of tables or other pieces of furniture whose base rests on comparable winged terms, as on a plate of the continuation of the "Book of tables which are in the apartments of the king on which the jewels of the medals of the cabinet of medals" engraved by Pierre Lepautre (1652 - 1716), or on older older drawings due to the architect and sculptor architect and sculptor Jean Dubois (1625 - 1694), or later attributed to Nicolas Pineau (1684 - 754). We do not know who was responsible for the commission of the table we present, but its high quality of quality of execution seems to indicate a sculptor from the entourage of the Bâtiments du Roi.
