(cracks, reinforcements)
We find on several engravings
or ornamental drawings of tables
or other pieces of furniture whose base
rests on comparable winged terms,
as on a plate of the continuation of the "Book
of tables which are in the apartments
of the king on which the jewels of the medals
of the cabinet of medals" engraved by
Pierre Lepautre (1652 - 1716), or on older
older drawings due to the architect and sculptor
architect and sculptor Jean Dubois (1625 - 1694), or later
attributed to Nicolas Pineau (1684 - 754).
We do not know who was responsible for the commission
of the table we present, but its high quality of
quality of execution seems to indicate a sculptor
from the entourage of the Bâtiments du Roi.
