Formerly eight-armed, with trunk laid to one side and entwined, one hand raised in vitarkamudra, the other placed on the thigh, in two hands unidentifiable attributes. On the head beaded strings, the upper body is embraced by a naga. Mounted on pedestal.
Ganesha is considered the lord of obstacles and the more arms he has, the more obstacles he can remove, on the other hand, the numerous arms enhance the dynamics of his rhythmic dance.
