A zardozi sari. Wine red silk and metal embroidery. North India.
Embroidered with sewn-on sequins, gold lantern and underlined gold metal bands on one narrow side wide border with two rows of boteh motifs filled with flowers between floral vines, on the long side very thin border. Approximately two-thirds of the cloth is filled with rows of staggered flowers. Somewhat tattered at the undecorated end. Backed with red cotton. A few small holes in the cloth insignificant
