CAMUS, Jean LECAMUS (1762-1846)
General, Baron de Moulignon. L.A.S. addressed to Adjutant General Porson (1765-1840) dated 1 Thermidor An VIII (July 20, 1800), complaining of negligence in the treatment of the mails and of his situation of monment.
Slight stains and tears.
"I have just received my dear comrade, the package that you sent me by a dragon. I cannot conceive where the negligence of the offices of the general staff comes from. The last statements of which I spoke to you were deposited by me in the offices of General Dessolle. I hope that you will have received them or that you will receive them without delay. I am putting together for you once again the statements of the losses of the month of Prairial. Only the 84th [brigade] is missing and in a few days I will send them to you with my statement for the end of the month and the bulletin for the last decade. I am going to write today to Gal Dessolle to ask him to have his offices search for the letters that you sent me and the packages that I sent you .... I am looking forward to having to make the move that our division must make...we live like children of nature and almost forgotten by everyone. In addition, we are now accustomed to being mentioned only in passing. This way of serving is not pleasant and I confess to you, my dear comrade, that I desire a change that I will request from Gal Moreau and his chief of staff.
