A label indicates that the work was made with Picasso in Vallauris.
Aimé Maeght discovered the work and talent of Baya during his trip to Algeria in 1947. The famous Maegtht gallery exhibited it and André Breton wrote the preface to the catalog. Invited to Vallauris a few months later and guided by Adrien Maeght, Aimé Maeght's son, the artist tried her hand at ceramics with Picasso.
