Buddha, Japan, Kamakura period (1185-1333) H. 33 cm. Lacquered wood Seated in the European style among the rocks, wearing a monastic robe with large folds. The face is serene: half-closed eyes, joined lips, elongated earlobes, the hairstyle surmounted by the cranial protuberance is treated in small concentric curls, the urna inlaid with glass.
