Buddhist Triad, India, Kashmir, 8th century H. 14 cm. Grey chlorite
The adorned Buddha makes the gesture of preaching seated on a throne guarded by two lions looking at each other. He wears a necklace and pearl earrings. Two Bodhisattvas assist him standing on lotuses. All three have their heads covered with a circular halo. The back of the relief is decorated with a magnificent stupa.
