CHINA. Wood, slightly shiny patina of use. Mask of the Fangxiang, the priest-shaman who leads the activity of the cult. He wears on his forehead the effigy of the tiger, swallowing demons. Beginning of the 20th century. Height: 22cm. Length: 11 cm. Provenance: Collection of Yves Créhalet, author of the reference book, " Le Masque de la Chine " (ed. Actes Sud, 2007), and curator of the exhibition at the Musée Jacquemart-André, Paris, April to September 2007.
