AN EGYPTIAN STEATITE STONE POT DEPICTING CAPTIVES IN A CHAIN (NUBIAN LOCALS) IN SOUTHERN EGYPT, AN EGYPTIAN STEATITE STONE POT DEPICTING CAPTIVES IN A CHAIN (NUBIAN LOCALS) IN SOUTHERN EGYPT. 1300-1000 B.C. NEW KINGDOM  Height: 13.5cm Provenance: Swiss Private Collection 1960's thence by descent.  Accompanied with a report from an established expert.  Footnotes: A highly academic and unique piece, during this time when Ramses invaded part of Egypt an ethnic race was taken as slaves and prisoners, this highlights the rarity of the period for such an object. Not many objects have been known which express history of the Ramses Invasion and enslavement of the Nubian locals. This piece also expresses the victory of the invasion and the success, which is what makes it rather unique.
