Okumkpa mask of ''Mma Ji'' type, Nigeria, Ibo. Wood, carved, partially blackened, white pigment. Anthropo/ zoomorphic face with attachment in the shape of a yam knife. Notched cross symbol. Around the rim braid of plant fibers (partial), rim partially slightly broken. L. 39,5 cm. Provenance: Peer Hultberg Collection (1935-2007), Hamburg.
