Helmet mask/attachment mask of the type ''bwoom'', Zaire, Cuba/ Kete. Anthropomorphic mask with cone-shaped eyes (''chameleon eyes'') and strongly elongated lower jaw or chin (possibly also beard). Wood, carved, vertex opening with plant fiber padding. Eye sockets concentrically perforated. Dark brown patina with white and red pigments. Pattern of scarred tattoos on the sides and lower tip. Uniform perforations in the neck area, here netting of plant fiber cords. L. 55 cm. Provenance: collection Peer Hultberg (1935-2007), Hamburg.
