Large shield of type ''kor'', Eastern Nigeria/ Cameroon, Mambila. Woven shield made of plant fibers (palm) and wood, woven geometric pattern faintly visible. Oval with concave cutouts on top and bottom. Board stiffening and braided handle on the back. Slight damage to the wickerwork at the cutouts and around the rim. H. ca. 125 cm. Provenance: Peer Hultberg Collection (1935-2007), Hamburg. Mambila kor shield, braided palm fiber and two wooden slats, geometrical pattern. Fibre handle.
