Label Sotheby's Copenhagen on the back. In decorative frame. 69 x 58 cm, 92 x 78 cm (Ra). Doubled, restored in 1996 in Denmark (note on stretcher). Numerous minor to medium retouchings in background and robe. As Royal Court Painter to Christian VI of Denmark, Eriksen traveled to St. Petersburg in the 1760s and quickly attracted attention for his talent.
