Pair of perfumers, Following German Renaissance models; 19th century.
Silver.
One of them has a break in the hinge of the lid.
They have illegible marks on the base.
Measurements: 18 x 6 cm.
Pair of perfumers made entirely in silver with a very delicate and profuse ornamental design. Both pieces have the same design in their structure and a similar decoration, although this differs slightly in each one of the perfumers. Both sit on a round base decorated with vegetal and geometric motifs in relief. From the base a small column supports the body, topped at the top with the image of a crouching human figure, which seems to support the body. The latter, of globular format, is the most ornate, with an intricate design in which hollow niche-like spaces are interspersed with human figures carrying musical instruments. Both pieces end with a long neck and a welded, globular-shaped tampon topped with a figure.
Stylistically, the pieces follow Renaissance models, when, apart from religious commissions, commissions from an incipient bourgeoisie began to proliferate. This boom led to an increase in the creation of this type of precious objects, the most highly prized being the workshops of Nuremberg and Antwerp, which stood out for their great creativity and technical richness.
