Hippolyte JAUBERT (1798-1874), botanist and politician, he had constituted a very important herbarium and participated in the creation of the Botanical Society of France.
5 autographed letters (+ 1 autographed visiting card) to the publisher Jean-Baptiste Baillière (1797-1885). 6 pp. in-8. Domaine de Givry (Cher) and Paris, 1849-1870.
Purchases of books for his botanical library. "While inserting in my herbarium the plates of Mr Hooker (Icones), I noticed that the plate 751 sinapidendran gracile was missing and that on the contrary the plate 752 sinapidendran vegelii was in duplicate [] ". He wishes to know what happened to the 50 portfolios sold at the sale of Bigot de Préameneu. "These portfolios contained a collection of botanical engravings extracted from a host of works. "I have never possessed works with engravings by Tenore other than the volumes that were given to you a few years ago in exchange for other botanical books []. I find the two large books of Mr. Mueller too expensive. But I still want to own volumes 1, 3, 5 and following of his Fragmenta phytographia australiae []". In a last letter he orders several botanical works (Koch - Flora germanica; Lloyd - Flore de l'ouest, etc.).
