Snuff bottle. China, 19th century. Metal and Chinese lacquer. Measurements: 7.7 x 3.5 x 2 cm. Oval-shaped perfume bottle carved in Chinese lacquer. The front depicts a palace scene featuring a slender lady. The scene opens onto a landscape of architecture and rich vegetation amidst mountainous terrain. On the reverse are more architraves. Grecian decoration and borders accompany the composition, leaving no space on the piece empty of ornamentation. The bottle is crowned by a metal stopper with floral decoration.
