Portable writing-box. England, late 19th century.
Rosewood frame with oriental-inspired decoration inlaid with bone and metal. The interior is filleted with lemongrass.
The metal stops that hold the lid upright are missing.

Measurements: 22 x 53 x 36 cm.
Portable prismatic box-desk whose upper face has been decorated with bone and metal inlays with chinoiserie motifs, bordered by vegetal borders using the same technique. It has a hinged front lid and a metal lock at the top. On the inside, the front is divided into two registers, the lower one with three small drawers with a fillet in lemongrass wood, which is reflected on the inside of the hinged lid.
